The speed of a woodworker depends on his or her years of experience, but that only has an effect in the amount of time needed to build a woodworking project. You will need to add many hours after the first few projects. It is not easy to predict when you will have finished building your first woodworking project or, in most cases, when you will begin your real woodworking. With a short or long term goal in mind, the time needed to build a certain size box should be reduced by about 80%.

The woodworking equipment is the basic ingredient in the time required to learn a craft. When you compare a $200 router, $500 lathe and $500 wood plane, you would see a difference of $10,000 in woodworking equipment cost.
