Yes, I’d say it is. Photo editing has the potential to turn the world into a huge mess of Photoshop-y crap, but if you’re an art student or a hobbyist, then I’m sure you can figure out your own tricks pretty easily. So far, I’ve only found one problem with Photoshop’s image effects: that you can only apply them to certain images. I’m not talking about what you put in a picture to make it look the way you want it to, of course. There are always exceptions to this rule, like, for example, when you want to do a filter that makes your photo look photorealistic. But even in these cases, I feel you’ll sometimes have to use Photoshop’s original filter and then use a certain image-enhancement effect to get the result your original filter creates. Photo editing is really all about finding the perfect balance between being able to edit an image and having it look good on your device. I used to use Photoshop for almost every job you can imagine, but I quickly realized that it’s not a super-powerful and fast tool. It can be a fun, easy to use tool, and you can still come up with great results if you stick with it long enough, but it isn’t a game-changer for anyone’s workflow.
