There are many people out there who are working hard and making money. It’s important to see who earns the most and, in the end, it’s also important to see how much of the money that they contribute to the family.

In the weeks after an All-American season that propelled him to the top of the Heisman Trophy voting, Texas freshman quarterback Shane Buechele was asked to throw fewer passes than ever before in his career in the Longhorns’ season-opening win over TCU.
Still, he managed 13 completions against the No. 8 Horned Frogs and led a 10-play, 59-yard drive that ended with his fourth TD toss of the game late in the fourth quarter.
Buechele didn’t get to try to lead the Longhorns back from a 21-7 deficit to tie it, but he did manage one of his best performances of his young life. He is playing at a different level from when he won the Heisman as a highly touted recruit out of high school in 2011 and is now facing a rebuilding time at the college level and in the NFL where quarterbacks aren’t typically expected to make big improvements like a freshman.
“I have to keep working and just keep growing as a person and just keep growing to be the best leader that I can be,” Buechele said.
Buechele went 12-for-26 for 170 yards and four TDs during three days of spring practice Monday and Tuesday at Rice-Eccles Stadium where his mother, Laura Buechele, said her son was playing in the spring game. Buechele started for the team against Texas A&M on Sept. 15, completing 17 of 23 passes for 231 yards and one touchdown in Texas’ 41-14 victory.
“He did a lot for us that day,” coach Charlie Strong said of Buechele’s interception returning it for a touchdown that gave Texas a 30-14 lead.
