What is the difference between a therapist and a life coach? – How To Start A Coaching Program

What is the difference between a doctor and a life coach? What is going on in my body is not going to go away? Is it OK to listen to a therapist for a life coach? That is really the difference between a life coach and someone who does medical care or is a medical doctor.

My mom once wrote that the difference between a person who is a coach and a coach may be how they say their thing. If your coach says they are going to help you change or what to make a life change you have to wonder how you are supposed to know it’s going to be successful, because it only works if your teacher, mentor, coach, etc. are there to validate it before you start it and then help you follow through. Do you think I would have done anything if my mother said to me I had to start following the doctor on something or I was going to be ill all the time? No. In this case, it is your teacher, mentor, coach and you that are going to have to validate your ideas and guide you through it. So really the distinction between a therapist or a life coach is what their job is and whether they are trained in it.

I realize many life coaches are really good at telling me that I need to stop drinking, quit smoking, eat right, work harder, blah blah blah. I see how this may sound ridiculous, but really what they really mean is telling me to put my head where their hands are, stop making excuses (I should try to stop drinking too), stop asking myself why I am feeling this way or not feeling this way, stop making excuses for why I do things (I should stop watching TV, smoking, eating sugar, and not watch or cook any of my food), and so on. I see how this may sound to a parent who is looking to say that my child is going to be a good and healthy kid. So do you really think that a lot of people want my child to be healthy and well? No.

What makes a good or bad therapist? I think it depends on what you do for your therapy. I want to make it clear that my opinion on what makes a good life coach or a life coach is personal. Most therapists would tell you that a good life coach will encourage your life to start changing and change quickly in healthy and productive ways, not as fast as you might otherwise like it to.

A good life coach will also keep in touch with you on the changes you are making. They
