One of the questions we receive from readers is how to start to lose weight. A common theme is that people who are very active need to take time off of their activities, rather than just quitting their activity altogether. I think there are some pretty good strategies to help manage weight that we can share with you if you are a weight control enthusiast. However, some of the strategies are very specific and others are general, so I’m going to explain them here, but also let you know what you should do that works (no one can guarantee that it will work or even that it will be effective), and what not to do.
What Is Weight Management?
Weight management is basically the science of changing your lifestyle to make your body and your weight better. It includes changes to your lifestyle, diet, exercise and even supplements. You might want to read this article if you are confused by the terms weight loss or weight gain and you want to understand what it is all about.
There are two basic types of weight management strategies.
1. Weight loss: This is about doing something that will help you lose your weight in a healthy way, not just in a way that helps you eat more calories, or exercise more, or even reduce stress for short periods of time. It includes things such as not eating or losing certain foods and beverages, not going on a diet, or losing a certain amount of weight during a specific time period of time. For example, if you are overweight, not going to the gym during the week, going to the supermarket to buy foods, or going to the gym during the week you can lose weight, because that is exactly what it is about. It is important to remember this is not a one-time change, the longer you do this, and keep being healthy and eating right, weight loss tends to be a more gradual process than dieting.
2. Weight gain: This is about dieting to lose weight, by dieting, you are forcing yourself to eat certain foods or drinks so that you will have energy and calories. There are two things that this will not work as well as losing weight, as we have already mentioned. Firstly, your body is not made to respond to such an extreme diet that would cause significant fat loss. Secondly, you are not in a healthy mood because you have not had the time to relax and enjoy things as they should.
