How much should I tighten my violin bow? – Learn Violin Beginner Lesson 4 Problem Solving

The exact length you need depends entirely on the length of the string. Your violin bow will either come with a string gauge or it may be available at your local violin store. Make sure the gauge matches your string. If your string is too loose, you may need to wrap the tip of one of your fingers around the string and pull it gently. If your string is too tight, wrap the tip of your finger around the string and pull it gently, using your thumb and index finger.

How long should my string be?

To determine the length of your string, start on the lower end of your string and increase by an inch before pulling the bow tight. For example, if you have a 35 string and pull the bow tight to the top, you will not need a 55 or 65 string, as the extra length will make it impossible to tune your violin accurately, as the string would need to be lengthened. On the other hand, if you have a 46 string, and you use both a 35 and a 47 string, a 65 or 69 will be enough.

The SteamVR Controllers, which will ship with both the HTC and Oculus Touch hand-helds, will ship in July with the new HTC Vive and Oculus Touch versions. In the meantime, Valve is taking pre-orders on the Controllers with pre-order incentives for certain levels of pre-ordering including free SteamVR game code. We’ve got no reason to believe that Valve is pulling any strings here, and the company is also taking all sorts of steps to get its games to Steam. In fact, as we
