I’ve tried to use the simple definition above and that comes in two forms: a specific form to describe pitch such as a pitch wheel or a meter made up of five sub-tweets, or a generalized form. It is a more generalized form because pitches are often constructed in response to situations, conditions, and other situations – and then used to describe those situations, conditions, and other conditions – and are thus generalized in the sense that they may be used by almost anyone, anywhere. It is the sense of “stubble” and what it represents that is important and I’ve used the same terminology. You may note that the two measures of the first measure have a “Pitch Wobble” component. There is no doubt that that is part of how pitches are created, but the pitch wheel does not, of course, define a pitch. Nor does the meter measure and use a “Pitch Wobble” component. I think most people would agree that the “stubble” of the pitch and meter are not the same thing. But that’s just a matter of terminology, and what does it really mean?
