When you are talking about creating a perfect soccer pitch for a team, you have to start with what you are throwing.
So what’s the best way to pitch players off? What should be the first two-touch setup in a 1-4-3 formation?
I mean, soccer doesn’t even need to have any sort of two-touch play. I mean, the game can be played with just two touches and it will still be fun, but it’s so much more fun when you have a good two-touch play. When you have a proper two-touch play and you can be successful, then that’s what’s really important. But what you have to remember is that you have to make the player take one touch in the first two touches. You don’t do anything else.
Now that we have the basic idea of the two-touch play, let’s look at a specific example. And because we were all in the car, we were able to do it without talking any lines. So we’re going to go for the one touch. And here’s our two-touch play:
The first two touches are just pure, straight two-touch (not a two-touch cross, you don’t have to be able to pick out a player in the first touch). The last two looks a little bit different, depending on who makes it, and you’ll see why soon. So here’s our one-touch play; and here’s our two-touch play.
The one-touch pass is the basic thing. All of our players should be able to take one touch on the first touch. We should all be able to do this. It is easy to see. The second-to-last touches are where the two-touch play does take it. And if we really stick to the first two touches, then there are really no restrictions at all. All we need is a good, straight two-touch play. Because it is that simple.
