Who qualifies for small business grants? – Government Grants For Rental Assistance

Any small business is eligible for small business grant funds and may be eligible for all other grants and tax credits; however, eligibility will depend on the business’ economic and/or tax situation. If you qualify or have a small business and do not wish to have your business covered by a small business grant program, please contact the Small Business Administration (SBA) directly.

The Office of Minority and Women’s Business Assistance is responsible for providing minority and small business loan programs and assistance to eligible low-income families. Federal loans are provided to eligible recipients who are or who aspire to purchase a new residential dwelling in a high minority area, meet HUD minimum income limits or qualify for other assistance programs offered by the SBA.

Under the Small Business Lending Program, eligible small business loan funds are provided to certain business owner-owned minority small businesses and minority loan applicants who meet the following requirements and who submit applications in support of SBA-approved loan programs and assistance for low, moderate and moderate income families:

SBA-approved Business Owner-Owned and Minority Small Business Loan Program

Applicant must be owned, chartered or controlled by an applicant to receive SBA-approved loan proceeds.

Business must be located in an area of racial and ethnically mixed populations.

Founded before January 1, 1997.

Famous owner would not be eligible for program.

Qualifications are:

Inherited household income at or below 100% of poverty level and/or $25,000 or less of equity capital.

Small Minority Business Loan Program

Applicant must be owned, chartered or controlled by an applicant to receive SBA-approved loan proceeds.

Business must be located in an area of racial and ethnically mixed populations.


Famous owner would not be eligible for program.

Qualifications are:

Small Rural Business Loan Program

Applicant must be owned, chartered or controlled by an applicant to receive SBA-approved loan proceeds.
