The grants are available for a number of reasons. Our goal is to support students and their families while they attend our programs, so we ask donors to help us in fulfilling this desire. There are two types of grants: General grants and Scholarship grants.
General Grant – Grants to student and their families in exchange for educational, vocational or non-academic items.
For example, a student is awarded a scholarship after they finish a four year degree and are starting work in a more competitive field.
Routine Grant – Grants to students and their family members in exchange for attendance at the University.
For example, a student is awarded a scholarship after completing college and moving to a more competitive field.
In addition to scholarship programs, we have four general funding opportunities available under the Academic Funding Grant Program.
Research Grant – Grants to student and their families in exchange for the opportunity to collaborate with other students in research.
The research proposal process is confidential and this funding opportunity is only open to current students.
Eligible students must be current students at Michigan International University and their families must be current Michigan students.
Scholarship Grant – Grants to eligible undergraduate or graduate students for undergraduate or graduate coursework that they have completed with an Academic Director of Scholarships at Michigan International University.
Michigan International University may accept a scholarship proposal as part of the Academic Funding Grant Program in lieu of an on-campus scholarship and an institutional award.
Michigan International University may consider scholarship proposals from registered Michigan International students.
If you are interested in submitting a scholarship proposal for a specific academic year and have not submitted an Application to the Academic Program for Grants and Scholarships by the due date, we welcome your application if you have submitted it or can explain why you have not.
