What is a service grant? – Uk Government Coronavirus Business Grants

A service grant is an amount the agency receives each year—typically to provide a service or provide assistance to the community and/or the individual. For the program to qualify as a service grant, it must qualify under the criteria below before being eligible for funding by the federal government: The Department of Education or another federal agency must use the services or payments as part of a program to improve student performance.

The department/agency must use the services as part of a program to educate, prepare or assist persons outside of the school system.

The department/agency must use the services as part of a program of equal access to the schools to all students without regard to student characteristics. For more information on how the Federal Government distributes funds based on this criteria, see the How the Government Distributes Funds Guide (PDF). This does not mean the Federal Government is funding programs or services through its own programs or programs solely through the use of Federal funds. The United States Department of Education or another federal agency uses federal grant funding to provide programs of equal access and/or education services to students in the educational community in order to educate, prepare or assist persons outside of the schools. This does not mean the United States Department of Education or another federal agency is funding programs, initiatives, programs of equal access, programs of equal educational opportunity, or other programs that do not promote equal educational opportunity or services to the community in accordance with the provisions of these regulations. Other terms and definitions used in these regulations may not be exact, and the Department of Education cannot verify or guarantee correctness. For more information on these terms and definitions, see our definition of a grant. This application requires that applicants to an office of the United States Department of Education submit their applications in compliance with the provisions of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000e et seq.). Any applicant for federal student financial assistance who is admitted to a Federal program, program branch of a Federal program, or office or function of another Federal agency must also submit to the Department of Education any necessary documentation that supports the application and is required for the program or office to operate. For more information about the Department of Education’s responsibilities under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (including procedures relating to applicants for Federal student financial assistance), visit the Department of Education website at www.ed.gov .
