Yes, we’re very generous but we’re not for all. We understand that some charities have limited resources and often have trouble getting donations. Some grants are made to organisations that are not eligible for many grants, as these are not specifically recognised charities. However, your local Community Foundation Council will tell you which charities you can get funding from here. Does the community grant cover housing costs? Yes, the Community Grants are available to help those who rent privately or with others who want to move into affordable housing in London. Where to find out more Read about help and support available through the grants scheme
Can the Community Grants go towards other local activities? Yes they do. Some money from the Community Grants is set aside to help pay for activities outside the charity and they may also help with your local civic projects and schemes. Read more about these schemes.
Do organisations receive Community Grants to do things that you could not do yourself? As well as supporting charities and community groups, the Community Grants also help charities to support local initiatives. These include: building local gardens, organising art exhibitions, providing local support for farmers and their work and even volunteering or visiting local schools. Read more
What if I don’t have £1 for the Community Grants? There are a number of other ways you can donate your Community Grant. You can write us a cheque to: Community Grant Office, 6 London Fields Road, London W10 4BT. All cheques can be made payable to ‘Community Grant’, plus your name and post code and the name of your local community foundation council.
If using a cheque make sure to allow enough time for payment, you may be charged a service charge.
